What We Require
Role: Systems Administrators
To perform administration in the following areas:
Web servers
Application servers
Log files management
Backups and Recovery
Build and deploy
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Administrator experienced with high availability n-tier web-based systems.
Contribute to architect and design web/app servers enterprise implementations to achieve high availability within a datacenter and across multiple datacenters.
Perform custom build advanced installation of apache, JBoss and tomcat servers on solaris 10 SPARC and x86 platforms.
Fine tuning of apache, JBoss and tomcat servers according to vendor supplied standards for specilized hardware.
Create application build and their deployment on QA, staging and production servers.
Apply latest security patches and upgrade to latest available stable version within 30 days of version release.
Good understanding of web and application server clustering.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
Perform web and application server vulnerability scanning take required preventive security measures.
Integration of web, application and database servers.
Integration of load balancers with web, application and database servers.
Contribute to and follow processes, procedures and documentation.
Provide system performance analysis and improvement recommendations.
Be available outside normal business hours on a scheduled basis.
Good understanding of local traffic managers and global traffic managers.
Log files management.
Solaris operating system administration.
Review performance/ resource utilization graphs for all production systems and provide recommendations to management for doing capacity planning.
Perform continuous research work on latest technologies for improving our infrastructure and self skills.
Attend/conduct internal and external trainings.
Take backups of key systems files and perform restoration upon requirements.
Ensure that all applications/ db that we have in our infrastructure must have redundancy within datacenter and across the datacenter,
Improve scripting and automation skills.
Required Competencies:
* BCS/MCS
* 2 years relevant experience
* Good systems administration skills.
* Two years experience.
* In-depth knowledge of web/app servers administration.
* Good communication skills.
* Good troubleshooting skills.
* Strong awareness of technology trends and ability to identify those related to the current business objectives.
* Familiarity with technology standards, typical benchmarking strategies and development.
* Able to work extended hours under tight deadline to successfully meet objectives.
